ESPN's No.1-Ranked recruit Lamar Brown announced his commitment to LSU today, narrowly beating out Texas A&M to sign what will be their 1st top-ranked recruit since Leonard Fournette in 2014. Lamar Brown, a Louisiana native, chose to stay close to home and joins another 5-star, WR Tristan Keys (no. 10 overall), sending the 2026 LSU recruiting class to near the top 10. Coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers appear to be loading up for a defensive powerhouse team by adding Brown alongside Harold Perkins.

NFL Collusion Allegations Kept Under Wraps, Sparking Union Scrutiny

A recent arbitration ruling that found the NFL and its owners did not collude to limit guaranteed money in player contracts has been kept confidential due to an agreement between the league and the NFL Players' Association (NFLPA). The decision, made by arbiter Christopher Droney in January, only became public in June when "Pablo Torre Finds Out" reported on the 61-page ruling.

The grievance stemmed from allegations that Commissioner Roger Goodell and former general counsel Jeff Pash instructed teams in March 2022 to restrict guaranteed money in player contracts. Despite Droney's ruling, the NFLPA is appealing the decision. Player leadership was reportedly informed of the loss in January, though details of the findings were not revealed until the report in June.

Booker Signs Max Contract

In what has been a whirlwind of an offseason thus far for the Phoenix Suns, they were able to lock down their star for the foreseeable future with a 2-year, $145 million max extension that will keep Devin Booker on the roster through the 2030 season. This past season was a bit of a disaster for the Suns, who had loaded up on stars including Booker, KD and Bradley Beal. In spite of this, the Suns missed the playoffs this year, prompting ownership to blow it up. After trading Kevin Durant, and firing both their head coach and GM, they remain focused on building around their 2015 draft pick.
