Kuminga & Warriors Agreement

The Golden State Warriors and Jonathan Kuminga are at a contract stalemate. Kuminga is seeking a three-year, $75.2 million deal that includes a player option in the final year. The Warriors, however, have offered a similar deal with a team option, and have also put a three-year, $54 million fully guaranteed contract on the table. Kuminga's camp has signaled that they'd sign immediately if the team option is switched to a player option.

2) Wofford Players Ineligible

Six Wofford basketball players have been ruled ineligible by the NCAA due to an issue with off-campus housing. The situation led to the firing of head coach Dwight Perry and associate head coach Tysor Anderson. The players' agent claims the college failed to properly communicate with the coaching staff, resulting in the players receiving what the NCAA deemed "impermissible benefits" of $84 to $108 from their meal plans. The players fully support the reinstatement of both coaches and could enter the transfer portal if their request isn't met.

3) Florida’s NIL Collective Is Getting Creative

The University of Florida's College of Journalism and Communications is partnering with the school's dedicated NIL collective, Florida Victorious. The collective is paying the journalism college $20,000 this year to create an in-house agency, called Two Bits Creative, which will produce content for the collective and its athletes. The journalism school can also earn a 3% commission on any third-party NIL deals it secures.

Twenty-four students will work for the agency for course credit, not financial compensation, but the faculty hopes to eventually change that. The partnership is a first-of-its-kind initiative that aims to provide students with tangible experience in the sports media industry.

4) Crawford - Canelo Gets 41M Viewers

The fight between Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez on Netflix was a huge success. The streaming service announced that 41 million global viewers tuned in, making it the most-watched men's championship boxing match of the century.

The bout, which saw Crawford defeat Alvarez, also broke records at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The $47 million gate was the largest in the venue's history and the third-largest boxing gate ever.
