🏀 Mavs Win Draft Lottery

Holy sh**, talk about luck! The Mavericks just won the NBA Draft lottery with only a 1.8% chance - they're literally the fourth-biggest longshot to ever win this thing.

Dallas now gets to draft Duke phenom Cooper Flagg, who's basically guaranteed to go #1 in June.

This is wild timing considering they just traded away franchise superstar Luka Dončić to the Lakers in that massively controversial move. Mavs GM Nico Harrison, who got absolutely destroyed by fans for trading Luka, must be doing cartwheels right now.

The Spurs landed the #2 pick and Philly got #3, while the teams with the worst records (Jazz, Wizards, Hornets) all got screwed. None of them even cracked the top 3!

Flagg is the real deal - this dude averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and led Duke in literally everything as a freshman. He was the unanimous National Player of the Year and looks like a generational talent.

Now the Mavs can build around Flagg, Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving.

Rigged or nah?

🏀 Pacers Send Cavs To Cancun

The Pacers just knocked off the Cavs 114-105 to win the series 4-1, and it went down exactly how the first few games did. Cleveland jumps out to a big lead, then Indiana's crazy pace eventually wears 'em down.

Tyrese Haliburton was absolutely filthy with 31 points, including five threes in the second quarter when the Pacers were down 19 and needed a spark. Pascal Siakam added 21 as Indiana made the conference finals in back-to-back years for the first time since 2013-14.

Even with Donovan Mitchell battling through that ankle sprain to drop 35 points, the Cavs just couldn't keep up. They shot a miserable 9-for-35 from deep, and Mitchell and Garland combined to go just 12-for-41 from the field.

Next up: Either the Celtics or Knicks in the conference finals.

🏀 Thunder Shock Nuggets In 4th Quarter

What a freaking game!

For three quarters, this was all Denver. Jokic was doing his alien thing, hitting ridiculous shots including some one-footed 3-pointer that defied gravity. OKC looked young and overwhelmed.

Then something clicked. Lu Dort - yeah, the defensive guy who didn't even play in the 4th quarter of the previous game - suddenly turned into Steph Curry and drilled THREE straight threes to cut a 9-point lead down to 2.

SGA took over from there, finishing with 31 points and looking cool as ice when the pressure was highest. Jalen Williams hit a massive three with 1:19 left that nearly blew the roof off the place - dude was so hyped he couldn't even remember celebrating afterward.

Meanwhile, Jokic did everything possible (13 points in the 4th), but his teammates completely disappeared, going 1-for-15 in the final quarter including 0-for-10 from downtown.

🏀 Connecticut Sun Might For Sale

Sounds like the Connecticut Sun could be heading somewhere else!

The team's owners, the Mohegan tribe, just hired an investment bank to "explore all options" including a potential sale that would likely mean relocation, according to Sportico.

The Mohegan tribe has owned the Sun since 2003 when they bought the team for $10 million and moved it from Orlando. They were the first non-NBA owners in the WNBA and actually the first franchise to turn a profit. Pretty impressive run!

This is all happening while the WNBA is absolutely booming and teams are expected to invest more cash in things like practice facilities. Connecticut is one of the teams that still doesn't have a dedicated training facility - players practice at either the arena or a community center that's open to tribal members too. Not exactly top-tier by today's standards.

The timing is wild since the Sun just lost their ENTIRE starting lineup this offseason to free agency and trades. Despite that, they've been one of the league's most successful franchises, making the playoffs in 16 of 22 seasons and reaching six straight semifinals.

For now, players are trying to focus on the upcoming season, which starts Sunday against Washington.

Tatum Done For Playoffs With Torn Achilles

Jayson Tatum is done for the playoffs with a torn right Achilles after going down in the final minutes of Monday's Game 4 loss to the Knicks.

He already had surgery yesterday - they rushed him into the OR immediately since quick surgery can apparently lead to a better outcome. But damn, this is brutal. The dude was having a monster game with 42 points when it happened, and now he's not only out for the playoffs but probably missing a huge chunk of next season too.

You could tell it was bad right away when he went down chasing that loose ball. His ankle rolled awkwardly, he couldn't put any weight on it, and when they wheeled him off in that wheelchair, he looked completely crushed with his head in his hands.

The timing couldn't possibly be worse. Boston's already down 3-1 in the series with Game 5 tonight, and now they've lost their superstar who just signed that massive $315 million extension last summer after winning the title. If the Knicks win tonight, they'll make their first Conference Finals since 1999.
