The Jets Need A New QB

The Jets announced they're moving on from the 41-year-old QB after meeting with him last week.
The numbers tell a rough story:
6-12 record as a starter
Career lows in yards per attempt (6.7) and dropback (5.8)
Ranked 25th in QBR (48.2)
Jets went 5-12 in 2024
What's next:
Jets are likely using the post-June 1 release to split the $49M cap hit
Will carry $23.5M until June 2, then drop to $14M
Rodgers is free to sign elsewhere March 13
Jets are eyeing Kirk Cousins or Justin Fields as replacement
After tearing his Achilles four snaps into 2023, Rodgers couldn't recapture the magic in 2024. Even taking a $35M pay cut and trying to rush back from injury couldn't save what might be one of the most disappointing moves in Jets history.
College Football Players Will Get Video Game Royalties

HUGE news for college football video games!
More than 450 players just signed deals worth over $20 million total with Pathway Sports for their likeness rights - the biggest commercial deal in college sports history.
The details:
$1,500 upfront payment per player
Already signed Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Texas Tech, Wisconsin, Oregon
Targeting all 11,000 FBS scholarship players (~$125K per school)
Extra "ambassador payments" pushing the total over $20M
Won't count against new NIL revenue-sharing caps
This is WAY better than last year's EA Sports deal that paid players just $600 each for "College Football 25" (which made $500M in sales!). Alabama WR Ryan Williams says Pathway is helping players "get our fair share of royalties from a billion dollar business."
More schools are coming on board soon (Clemson, Tennessee, Missouri, West Virginia). The best part? With royalties, players could make 4x what they got last year. Talk about a game-changer for college athletes getting paid! 🎮💰
YouTube Is Fumbling March Madness

YouTube TV might lose CBS just before March Madness!
Paramount and YouTube TV's contract expires tonight at 11 PM ET, and if they can't make a deal, you'll lose 21+ channels including CBS and CBS Sports.
The timing couldn't be worse:
March Madness starts on March 18
The Masters begins April 10
Major CBS local news stations affected (NY, Philly, Dallas, SF, Boston, Atlanta)
YouTube TV says they're trying to avoid raising prices, while Paramount claims YouTube TV isn't negotiating fairly. Sound familiar? We just saw this with Disney-DirecTV in September (lasted 2 weeks).
The silver lining:
YouTube TV offering $8 credit if channels go dark
You can still watch on Paramount+ ($7.99/month)
Past disputes (like Disney-Charter) got resolved before big events
Not great timing with YouTube TV just hiking prices to $82.99/month. Make sure you have a backup plan before the games start.
Sad News For The 3PT Contest This Year

The stage was perfect. San Francisco is Curry's home court and Ionescu is also from the Bay Area!
Last year's showdown was epic (Steph won 29-26), and they were even talking about making it 2-on-2 this year with Klay Thompson and rookie sensation Caitlin Clark. Both stars wanted it to happen, but according to the NBA, they couldn't find a way to "raise the bar" from last year's special moment.
Remember what Ionescu said after last year? "We've been talking about finding different ways to change this up next year... I'm open to any partner that could help me win and take that belt away from him."
The NBA tried everything - even considered putting it between games during Sunday's new tournament format. But sometimes the sequel just doesn't come together.
Travis Hunter’s Combine Position 👀

The Colorado two-way star who dominated both sides of the ball gets labeled as a defensive back despite his insane receiving stats.
The numbers show why this is such a tough call:
713 offensive snaps and 748 defensive snaps in 2024
Won Big 12 DPOY (36 tackles, 11 PDs, 4 INTs)
Won Biletnikoff Award (96 catches, 1,258 yards, 15 TDs)
Only FBS player EVER with 10+ TDs and 5+ INTs
While he'll probably still get some offensive snaps in the NFL, listing him as a DB at the Combine suggests that's where teams see his future. Imagine if he got to be a full-time starter on both sides, that would be nuts.
Fun fact: His stats would make him a first-round pick at EITHER position. Talk about a special talent 🏈
