๐Ÿ€ Curry Experiences Scary Moment In Game

Scary moment for the Warriors last night when Steph Curry had to leave their 117-114 win over Toronto with a pelvic contusion.

The injury happened with 3:32 left in the third quarter - Curry collided with two Raptors defenders while passing to Jonathan Kuminga, then crashed hard to the floor on his back.

Curry stayed down in pain before eventually walking off under his own power. He made it to the bench first but then headed to the locker room and was ruled out for the rest of the game. He finished with 17 points in 25 minutes.

The timing isn't terrible for Golden State if Curry needs a short recovery - they don't play again until Saturday when they begin a six-game road trip in Atlanta. But any extended absence would be devastating for a Warriors team that's been on a roll since adding Jimmy Butler at the trade deadline. ๐Ÿ€

๐Ÿ€ McNeese STUNS Clemson

McNeese State pulled off the biggest upset of the NCAA Tournament so far, stunning 5-seed Clemson 69-67 for the first March Madness win in school history!

The moment was so huge that McNeese's website crashed.

What makes this victory even more fascinating is the backdrop of coach Will Wade's impending departure to NC State after the tournament ends. Despite this potential distraction, the Cowboys came in with a brilliant game plan, using a 2-3 zone they hadn't played ALL SEASON.

The strategic curveball completely rattled Clemson, who shot a miserable 20.8% in the first half and trailed 31-13 at the break. That 13-point half nearly set an NCAA Tournament record for offensive futility by a high seed.

๐Ÿ€ Drake Upsets Missouri

Drake pulled off a textbook March Madness upset yesterday, with the 11th-seeded Bulldogs taking down 6-seed Missouri 67-57 in a first-round shocker!

This is an incredible story on multiple levels. McCollum spent 15 years at Division II Northwest Missouri State (winning FOUR national titles) before taking the Drake job last April. He then assembled a roster of mainly Division II recruits, JUCO transfers, and just two holdovers from the previous coach.

That ragtag group has now won 31 games using McCollum's patient, slow-tempo style. Against Missouri, they were physically dominant on the boards and outscored the Tigers 38-22 in the paint. Junior guard Bennett Stirtz (one of four starters who played D-II ball last season!) led the way with 21 points.

When Missouri made a late run to cut Drake's lead to 52-51 with 4:28 left, the Bulldogs responded with a decisive 15-6 run to close it out. If they can beat 3-seed Texas Tech on Saturday, Drake will reach its first Sweet 16 since 1971!

This is what March Madness is all about - a small school from Des Moines (enrollment: 4,774) taking down a power conference team on the biggest stage. ๐Ÿ€

Heartbreaking Injury For Kansas Senior

Just devastating news for Kansas - senior forward KJ Adams Jr. suffered an Achilles injury in the final minutes of their 79-72 NCAA Tournament loss to Arkansas.

The injury couldn't have come at a worse moment. Kansas was leading 67-64 with just 3:14 left when Adams grabbed a defensive rebound, landed on his left leg, and immediately crumpled to the ground in pain. Arkansas took advantage, going on a 7-0 run after Adams was helped to the locker room.

Adams, a 6'7" All-Big 12 honorable mention, has been a rock for the Jayhawks throughout his career, playing in 137 games with 97 starts. This season he averaged 9.2 points, 5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 30 minutes per game.

An Achilles tear would likely mean a long recovery process that could impact his professional prospects. Just heartbreaking. ๐Ÿ€

๐Ÿ’ธ Celtics Sell For $6.1 Billion

The Celtics just scored a record-breaking sale! The reigning NBA champions have agreed to be purchased for $6.1 billion by a group led by William Chisholm, co-founder of Symphony Technology Group.

This price tag breaks the North American sports record, surpassing the $6.05 billion paid for the NFL's Washington Commanders in 2023. The deal still needs approval from the NBA Board of Governors.

Current Celtics majority owner Wyc Grousbeck will remain as CEO and Governor through the 2027-2028 season, providing continuity for basketball operations.

The ownership group also includes current Celtics owner Rob Hale and Boston businessman Bruce A. Beal Jr. This sale comes less than a year after the Celtics captured their NBA-record 18th championship and announced their intention to sell the franchise. ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ’ฐ
