End Of The Road For A Kansas City Legend?

After a tough Super Bowl loss where he had just 4 catches for 39 yards, the Chiefs' star tight end sounds way less certain about returning than he did before the game.
Key quotes from Kelce:
"I'm kicking every can I can down the road."
"I've played more football than anybody the last 5-6 years.”
"As you see yourself not have the success you once had, it's a tough pill to swallow."
This season’s numbers tell the story:
Career-low 823 yards and 3 TDs this season
Quiet in AFC title game (2 catches, 19 yards)
Just turned 35
Chiefs owner Clark Hunt thinks he'll be back "because he loves the game," but Kelce says if he returns, it has to be "whole-hearted... not half-assing it."
After that Super Bowl performance and these comments, we might've seen the last of Travis Kelce in the NFL.
KD Joins The 30K Club

Kevin Durant hit another milestone on a free throw against Memphis, becoming just the 8th player in NBA history to reach 30,000 points!
The exclusive club:
LeBron (41,623)
Kareem (38,387)
Malone (36,928)
Kobe (33,643)
Jordan (32,292)
Dirk (31,560)
Wilt (31,419)
KD (30,007)
At 36, Durant's still BALLING - dropped 34 points on 12/18 shooting with 5 blocks against Memphis. His career numbers are ridiculous:
27.2 PPG
50.1% FG
38.7% from three
The resume speaks for itself:
4x scoring champ
14x All-Star
11x All-NBA
MVP
2x champ
KD is aging but he's not slowing down. A special generational talent that we may never see again.
The Lakers Welcome Their New Big Man

After missing out on Mark Williams (failed physical), the Lakers found their big man - they're signing Alex Len after he changed course from heading to the Pacers!
The timeline:
Traded AD for Luka, needed size
Tried to get Williams (Knecht + Reddish + picks)
Williams deal fell through (multiple issues in physical)
Now landing Len and waiving Christian Wood
The numbers on Len aren't flashy (1.4 PPG, 1.8 RPG in 7 minutes with Kings), but the Lakers desperately needed another center with only Jaxson Hayes on the roster. While he's not the lob threat Williams would've been for Luka, he brings much-needed size.
The Lakers are rolling though - six straight wins and 32-19 after Luka's debut win over Utah. They'll face the Jazz again Wednesday before the All-Star break. Not the move they wanted, but Len fills a need! 🏀
Education Department Reverses Biden Administration Policy On NIL

The U.S. Education Department has reversed the Biden administration's last-minute NIL guidance that would have required colleges to make payments "proportionately available to male and female athletes" under Title IX rules.
Key points:
Trump administration says the January memo had no legal basis
Could have affected the planned $20.5M NIL payments starting next school year
Schools were concerned about how to implement proportional payments
Comes a week after a new Title IX executive order on transgender athletes
The acting assistant secretary for civil rights argued that Title IX, passed in 1972, "says nothing about how revenue-generating athletics programs should allocate compensation among student athletes."
This change removes potential complications for the House settlement approval in April, which will set NIL payment boundaries. Previously, schools were scrambling to revise plans to comply with the proportional payment requirement.

Saints’ New Head Coach

Fresh off winning the Super Bowl with Philly, Kellen Moore is headed to New Orleans as the Saints' new head coach! The 36-year-old offensive mastermind takes over a team that hasn't made the playoffs since Drew Brees retired in 2020.
The Saints waited longer than any other team to make their hire, knowing they couldn't talk to Moore until after the Super Bowl. He joins a trend of young offensive coaches finding success, following guys like McVay, LaFleur, McDaniel and O'Connell.
Moore's challenge? Fixing a Saints offense with Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave, plus deciding Derek Carr's future. Meanwhile, Philly loses another coordinator after a Super Bowl run - Gannon (Cardinals) and Steichen (Colts) left after LVII.
