Canada Beats USA In Barnburner 🏒

INSTANT HOCKEY CLASSIC! Canada edges USA in overtime of the 4 Nations Face-Off championship on Connor McDavid's game-winner!

Here's how both teams graded out:

CANADA (A):

  • McDavid with the poetic OT winner

  • Cale Makar's return from illness was huge

  • Jordan Binnington matched Hellebuyck save for save

  • Depth players like Sam Bennett stepped up

  • Big question: Will 38-year-old Crosby still lead in the 2026 Olympics?

USA (A-):

  • Jake Guentzel was arguably the best forward in the final

  • Jaccob Slavin dominated on defense ("the eraser")

  • Missing Quinn Hughes and Charlie McAvoy hurt

  • Need healthy Auston Matthews for 2026

Key takeaways:

  • Depth matters (both teams got goals from role players)

  • Goaltending battle lived up to the hype

  • Both teams looking strong for the 2026 Olympics in Italy

Talk about a preview of what's coming in the Olympics! These teams are so evenly matched that their next meeting should be just as epic! 🏒

The Bucks’ Enforcer Gets Suspended 25 Games

Bobby Portis has been suspended 25 games for violating the NBA's anti-drug policy after testing positive for Tramadol (an opioid pain medication).

According to Portis and his agent Mark Bartelstein, it was an honest mistake. The forward was treating an elbow injury and thought he was taking Toradol, a permitted medication, after receiving the pill from an assistant who had a prescription for Tramadol.

The Bucks are standing firmly behind their sixth man, who's averaging 13.7 points and 8.3 rebounds this season. GM Jon Horst expressed "100% support" for Portis, while the NBPA emphasized that this incident doesn't reflect his character.

The unpaid suspension begins with Thursday's game against the Clippers, and Portis can return April 8 against the Timberwolves. The good news for Milwaukee (29-24)? He'll be eligible for the playoffs if they qualify.

Wemby Out For The Season

Rough news out of San Antonio - Wemby's season is done after doctors found a blood clot in his right shoulder. The Spurs shut him down right after All-Star weekend when the rookie mentioned his arm wasn't feeling right. Talk about bad timing - dude was absolutely crushing it, averaging 24 points, 11 rebounds, and leading the league with nearly 4 blocks per game.

The good news? Doctors say he'll be totally fine long-term with some blood thinners, but you obviously can't play basketball while on those. His teammate Chris Paul summed it up perfectly, saying they'll miss Wemby's locker room presence even more than his ridiculous on-court skills (though let's be real, how do you replace a guy who can shoot threes AND block shots like prime Dikembe?).

Between this and Pop's health issues earlier this season, the Spurs just can't catch a break.

😲 ESPN And MLB Break Up

The split's happening after the 2025 season, three years earlier than planned, and it's getting kinda messy. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred's not happy with ESPN basically ghosting baseball coverage outside of live games, while ESPN wanted to pay less than their current $550 million deal.

Remember "Sunday Night Baseball" and the Home Run Derby on ESPN? That's been the move since 1990, but times are changing. Baseball's been getting cozy with streaming services like Apple TV and Roku lately, especially since cable TV's been struggling (pour one out for those regional sports networks that went bankrupt).

Both sides are playing it cool, saying they might work together again. But for now, it looks like baseball's sliding into streaming services' DMs for its next big partnership.

Wild times in baseball broadcasting📺⚾

One Of The Best Linemen Hangs It Up

The dude was basically automatic for the Pro Bowl (made it 9 times) and was first-team All-Pro SEVEN times, which ties him with some Hall of Fame legends for most ever by a guard.

Here's a wild stat for you: this man only had seven holding penalties in his ENTIRE CAREER. Talk about consistency! The 34-year-old fought through some injuries these past couple seasons, and an ankle surgery limited him to just 10 games in 2024.

Cowboys are definitely gonna miss him both on and off the field - he was one of their key leaders in the locker room. But hey, we can expect to see him get that gold jacket in Canton. What a career! 🏈
