Future Hall Of Famer Is Done With Cleveland

The reigning DPOY dropped a bombshell Monday, requesting a trade after a brutal 3-14 season.
The numbers speak for themselves:
102.5 career sacks before age 29 (NFL record)
14 sacks in 2024 (2nd in NFL)
6x Pro Bowler, 4x All-Pro
The reason is simple. Garrett wants to compete for rings. He's got 2 years left on his $125M deal but no guaranteed money left.
The Browns are playing hardball though. GM Andrew Berry straight up said he wouldn't trade Garrett even for two first-rounders and expects him to "have a direct ticket from Cleveland to Canton." A source says their stance hasn't changed even after the trade request.
Just two weeks ago on "Hard Knocks," Garrett was saying they were "closer than some may think." Now he's saying this season was worse than going 0-16 his rookie year! đź‘€
The Trade That Shocked The Sports World

Around 12:15 AM ET on Sunday morning, news of a trade broke and sent shockwaves across the sports world.
The Lakers landed Luka Doncic from Dallas in exchange for Anthony Davis in a three-team stunner that went down right after their win over the Knicks.
The deal:
Lakers get: Doncic, Kleber, Morris
Mavs get: Davis, Christie, Lakers' 2029 first-round pick
Jazz get: Hood-Schifino plus two second-rounders
The trade was orchestrated quietly between Lakers GM Rob Pelinka and Mavs GM Nico Harrison (former Nike exec). Apparently, Mavs coach Jason Kidd had no idea (yikes).
Mavs fans are protesting with pitchforks while Lakers fans are jumping up and down.
I guess that statue of Luka in Dallas near Dirk ain’t happening.
How do you trade your franchise player when he hasn’t hit his prime yet? 🤔
The Spurs’ New Dynamic Duo

MASSIVE NBA trade! A three-team deal sends De'Aaron Fox to the Spurs and Zach LaVine to the Kings, just days after the Luka-AD blockbuster.
Key moves:
Spurs get: Fox (25 PPG, 6.1 APG) to pair with Wembanyama
Kings get: LaVine (having a career year - 51% FG, 45% 3PT) plus FIVE picks (3 firsts, 3 seconds)
Bulls get: Collins, Jones, Huerter, and their 2025 first-round pick back
Wild stats:
Record 4 players averaging 20+ PPG traded before the deadline
3 players with 10,000+ points for their old teams moved midseason
Fox ranks 4th all-time in Kings scoring
Fox posted an emotional goodbye on Instagram: "I wanted to end my career here and never expected it would end this way."
The Spurs kept most of their young core (Castle, Sochan, Johnson) AND vets (CP3, Barnes) while adding an All-Star guard. Kings get an elite scorer in LaVine plus draft capital after firing coach Mike Brown. And the Bulls can finally move LaVine's massive contract ($46M next year, $49M player option in '26-27) as they rebuild.
Are the Spurs contenders now?

Retiring Jerseys Of Two Female Legends

Two women's basketball legends had their #22 jerseys retired on the same day - Caitlin Clark at Iowa and A'ja Wilson at South Carolina.
Clark, who became NCAA Division I's all-time leading scorer, had her moment after Iowa upset #4 USC 76-69. She averaged 31.6 points and 8.9 assists her senior year, leading Iowa to two straight national title games before becoming the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year with the Fever.
Wilson's ceremony came before #2 South Carolina beat Auburn. The three-time WNBA MVP and 2024 scoring record holder holds 22 school records and led the Gamecocks to their first SEC title, Final Four, and national championship. She has an 11-foot statue outside Colonial Life Arena.
Both schools will permanently retire the #22, ensuring their legacies live on where their college careers began. 🏀
Too Much Golf?

Rory McIlroy says golf needs to scale back its schedule - both for players and viewers.
He argued that 47-50 tournaments yearly is too much and might be hurting viewership.
Key points on the state of golf:
PGA Tour-LIV merger needs to happen "pretty soon"
TGL and YouTube content have their place but shouldn't oversaturate
McIlroy prefers watching "real golfers play real tournaments"
Suggests NFL-style scarcity could help engagement
On improving the product:
Keep playing classic venues
Speed up the pace of play
Increase player-fan interaction
Maintain golf's traditions without "dumbing down"
McIlroy's stance: If people don't enjoy golf as is, that's fine - "Golf is golf... it's been this way for hundreds of years."
