WNBA Legend Hangs It Up πŸ€

The WNBA GOAT has finally called it a career!

What a freaking resume: 3 WNBA titles, 6 Olympic golds, 3 NCAA championships at UConn, 11-time All-Star, 2009 MVP, and the only player EVER to score 10,000 points. She's been the face of the league for two decades, entering when the WNBA was barely established and leaving it in a completely different universe.

Women's basketball is exploding with new teams joining, ratings booming (1.6 million watched the Finals), and that massive new media rights deal. Even Caitlin Clark, who idolized Taurasi growing up, simply posted "legend" on Instagram when she heard the news.

From one generation to the next - DT leaves the game better than she found it. Pour one out for the GOAT! πŸπŸ€

Luka Gets His Revenge πŸ‘€

In his first matchup against the Mavs since that shocking trade, DončiΔ‡ dropped a triple-double (19-15-11) with some steals and blocks thrown in for good measure. Dude was CLEARLY on a mission to make Dallas regret sending him to LA.

The pettiness was on full display right from the jump - Luka stared down the Mavs bench after draining an early three and even delivered what might be the assist of the year with a ridiculous no-look, behind-the-head dime to Austin Reaves. Lakers fans piled on by chanting "Thank you, Nico" at the Mavs GM who was in the building watching his trade backfire in real time.

To their credit, Dallas hung around and made it competitive, but LeBron started looking like LeBron in the second half, and the Lakers pulled away late for a 107-99 win. Seeing Bron and Luka ball out together just confirms what everyone feared when this trade happened - these two teaming up might've been a massive mistake... for the rest of the league! πŸ€

The Highest Paid Non-QB In The NFL

So the Bengals' brain trust is finally on the same page as Joe Burrow about keeping their stars around! Duke Tobin (basically their GM) admitted at the NFL Combine that he "completely agrees" with his quarterback's very public campaign to bring back Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Trey Hendrickson.

Tobin straight up declared that Chase will be the highest-paid non-QB in the entire league when his deal gets done. Well deserved after the dude just won the receiving Triple Crown (127 catches, 1,708 yards, 17 TDs).

For Higgins, another franchise tag is possible at $26.2 million, but they'd prefer a long-term deal. Both Chase and Higgins now share the same agent, which Tobin thinks might actually help get parallel deals done.

As for Hendrickson (who led the NFL in sacks), Tobin wants to extend him beyond 2025, but admitted "we're not there yet." Balancing all these mega-contracts while still improving a team that missed the playoffs?

It’s a tall task.

UPSET ALERT πŸ—£: Georgia Takes Down Florida

Georgia just pulled off the stunner of the night in college hoops, taking down #3 Florida 88-83 in a game that wasn't nearly as close as the final score suggests!

The Bulldogs absolutely BLITZED the Gators early, building a ridiculous 39-13 lead before Florida knew what hit them.

The drama came late when Florida finally battled all the way back to take their first lead with under 90 seconds left. But Georgia's Blue Cain immediately answered with his only three-pointer of the night - talk about clutch! - to help seal the deal.

This is MASSIVE for Georgia, who's been struggling in SEC play (4-10 coming in). It's their first win over a top-3 team since 2004 and keeps their March Madness hopes alive after losing four straight. They'd been in Lunardi's "Next Four Out" before this signature win.

Florida (24-4) might've just kissed their SEC regular season title hopes goodbye with Auburn and Bama ahead of them. When you shoot 18-29 from the free throw line, even Will Richard's 30 points can't save you! πŸ€

The πŸβ€™s Goal Record About To Be Broken

Alex Ovechkin is now just 12 GOALS AWAY from breaking Wayne Gretzky's "unbreakable" record of 894 career goals. The 39-year-old Caps star has been absolutely lighting it up this season with 30 goals in just 42 games - including 15 in his first 18 games before breaking his leg and another 15 since returning.

The craziest part? Ovi missed 16 games with that broken fibula and is STILL on pace for 47 goals this year. If he keeps scoring at this rate, we could see him pass The Great One before the regular season ends in April!

The milestones just keep coming for this guy - he's only the fourth player ever to score 30+ goals at age 39 or older, he's got the most goalies scored against in history (181!), and he's the only player EVER to score 200+ goals in three different decades.

His next chance to add to his 883 total comes Thursday against the Blues, who he's torched for 21 goals in 27 career games. Whether it happens this season or next, hockey's biggest record is about to fall! πŸ’πŸ”₯
