Michigan's Sherrone Moore Facing Two-Game Suspension

Michigan football's dealing with more drama!

Head coach Sherrone Moore is about to get hit with a two-game suspension for the upcoming season as part of self-imposed sanctions related to the Connor Stalions scouting scandal. He'll miss games against Central Michigan and Nebraska in Weeks 3 and 4, plus face recruiting penalties.

The suspension stems from Moore allegedly deleting 52 text messages with Stalions back in October 2023 when the scandal first broke. Those texts were later recovered through "device imaging."

Michigan deliberately structured the punishment so Moore can still coach against his alma mater Oklahoma in Week 2, where he played O-line in '06-'07. Pretty convenient timing, huh?

The NCAA's Committee on Infractions hearing is set for June 6-7, and they could potentially add more games to Moore's suspension if they want. There's even precedent for this - remember when they extended Harbaugh's punishment last year?

Unlike Harbaugh though, Moore won't even be allowed to run practices during his suspension weeks thanks to a new NCAA rule change.

Washington, D.C. To Host 2027 NFL Draft

Just a week after announcing a deal to bring the Commanders back to the city, Washington D.C. scored the 2027 NFL Draft. The draft is expected to take place on the National Mall with the Washington Monument as a backdrop, with the official announcement coming today at the White House.

This will be D.C.'s first time hosting the draft, which has become a massive event since it started rotating between cities in 2015. For reference, Green Bay pulled in over 600,000 fans last month, while Detroit set the all-time record with 750,000 people in 2024.

The news continues the momentum for both the city and the franchise, which has completely transformed under Josh Harris' ownership. After going 4-13 in his first year as owner, the team exploded to 12-5 last season and made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game with rookie phenom QB Jayden Daniels leading the charge.

The nearly $4 billion stadium deal announced on April 28th would bring the team back to their original home from 1961-1996, with the Commanders covering $2.7 billion of the cost. While it still needs D.C. Council approval, sources are optimistic it'll pass.

Warriors Take Game 7 Over Rockets

Some teams are just the other’s kryptonite!

The Warriors just crushed Houston's soul AGAIN with a 103-89 Game 7 victory at Toyota Center. This Warriors squad still know how to quiet an arena and send those red-shirt wearing fans home angry and frustrated.

The vets came through when it mattered most. Buddy Hield was absolutely unconscious, knocking down 9-of-11 threes with four in the second quarter when the Warriors took control. Jimmy Butler showed why they brought him in, hitting a clutch corner three to stop a Rockets run and finishing with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.

Steph Curry didn't even go off scoring-wise (just 22 points), but he grabbed 10 rebounds and focused on facilitating early instead of forcing shots.

Draymond Green bounced back from his Game 6 meltdown after some soul-searching and accountability.

Next up: Minnesota.

Osaka Wins First Clay Title In Comeback

Naomi Osaka's comeback story just got even sweeter!

The four-time Grand Slam champ finally snagged her first title since returning from maternity leave, beating Kaja Juvan 6-1, 7-5 at L'Open 35 de Saint-Malo. And it's her first EVER trophy on clay, which she's always considered her worst surface!

This is a massive milestone for the 27-year-old, who hadn't lifted a trophy since the 2021 Australian Open. After becoming a mom in July 2023, she's been grinding her way back up the rankings and will hit No. 48 when they update Monday.

Perfect timing too - the French Open kicks off May 25th, and suddenly Osaka looks like she might actually make some noise at Roland Garros, where she's historically struggled.

Nuggets Demolish Clippers In Game 7

Denver cruised to a 120-101 victory that wasn't even that close - they led by a ridiculous 35 at one point.

Jokic wasn't even the star of the show! The big man had a solid 16-10-8 line, but his supporting cast went nuclear. Aaron Gordon led with 22, Christian Braun dropped 21 while locking down Harden (who finished with just 7 points), and both Murray and Westbrook chipped in 16 apiece.

Denver completely blew this thing open with a 17-0 run in the third quarter and outscored the Clippers 72-40 in the middle quarters. It got so out of hand that Westbrook was willingly taking technicals for hanging on the rim after breakaway dunks.

Now they're headed to OKC to face the top-seeded Thunder who went a ridiculous 68-14 this season.
